One week from today we'll be parents :) Or hopefully, by now, we will be. According to the doctor, induced labor could take up to 2 days depending on how far the cervix is already dilated. As of my appointment last week, I was at 0, but beginning to soften. She didn't check my progress at my appointment this morning, which I thought was odd, so it looks like we won't know where we stand until I check into the hospital next week. I did get an ultrasound this morning though. Nora is measuring in at 7lbs. 10 oz. which is in the 81st percentile. Right on track, if a tad on the larger side. SO glad they're inducing me early, so she shouldn't get much bigger than 8lbs. If I were to go the potential 3 more weeks past that, I'd hate to see how big she would get! Thank God for modern technology...
Not a ton of change in the past week. Still the same aches and pains, but a little more nausea. Thankfully, it's intermittent at random times throughout the day and usually goes away within a half hour or so. Nowhere near what I experienced with morning sickness in the 1st trimester, so I really have nothing to complain about. Sleep is getting a bit more challenging. As Nora's managed to wedge herself even farther down into my pelvis, I now get up about 4 times a night to pee. Despite how tired I feel, I still have trouble falling back to sleep once I've gone through the fiasco of unwedging myself from all the pillows and rolling off the bed, all-the-while trying to work around the ever-growing planet that is now my belly. Just 6 more days and counting!!!
On a side note, I'm really beginning to think there's something in the water around here. Just as soon as someone has a baby, I hear of two more women who are pregnant. I'm pretty sure about half my facebook friends are pregnant or have had a baby in the last year. And lucky for us, two close friends of ours just found out that they're pregnant too! Josh's sister, Maygon, is due in mid-March, and another of our close friends (who aren't quite ready to come out with the great news) are due in late April! We're so excited that Nora will be growing up with close friends and family her age. Especially as I can't see myself ready to go through another 9 months like this again for quite a few years.
I plan on blogging my way through labor next week, so that my thousands of devoted fans can stay updated as I progress :) We'll see how that goes...
Below is my 38 week picture from yesterday morning.
